Single weight matboard with metallic paper is approximately 1/16" thick. It's rigid, but these single thickness matboard pieces are intended to be framed. The matboard backing is acid free, archival quality matboard. The metallic paper is Kodak Endura. These archival papers have a normal household life expectancy of 100 plus years. Thoughtful placement of the artwork, i.e. away from harsh bright lights, and especially sunlight / UV exposure will extend the life of the print significantly. Darkroom storage (who puts artwork in the dark) extends the life expectancy to approximately 500 years.
The Standout is a clean elegant presentation. There is no distraction from the image with matting or frames. The outside edge of the boards are given an edge band, finishing off a clean appearance. The standout mounts are available in 3/4" and 1 1/2" thickness. Black and white edge banding is available. The metallic paper used is Kodak Endura.
